Erik ten Hag Calls for Patience After Man U’s Defeat to Liverpool
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has urged fans to remain patient following his side’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday, 1 September.
Despite the poor home result at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester, England, the 54-year-old Dutchman is still confident his team can bounce back from their third defeat of the season, and achieve success this year.
During the post-match press conference, Ten Hag acknowledged the frustration of the supporters but dismissed any notion of a quick fix, stating he is “not Harry Potter.”
He highlighted that several players – including new signee Manuel Ugarte – are still building fitness and integrating into the squad. Ten Hag reiterated the need for time to mould a cohesive team, noting that “individuals have to improve” and that there is much work to be done.
The United boss defended his tactical choices, such as substituting Casemiro at half-time due to costly errors, and introducing younger players like Toby Collyer. While his team created chances, they failed to score, with Ten Hag expressing faith that players like Marcus Rashford will soon find form.
